Stained Glass in Scrapbooking!!

When Debb and the DSAGuild Design Team started teasing in late February about the new March Guild Kit, they kept mentioning that this new kit would be something that was so unique. I was completely intrigued and when the kit was released to the CTeam, I was absolutely blown away!!! Stained Glass!!!

Holy cow! Can you imagine trying to paper scrap with stained glass elements? That scrapbook would weigh tons and I'd never let my kids look at it for fear of breaking something. When people ask me what draws me to digital scrapping, my layouts with this kit, will be right at the top of my list of reasons why.

I will admit that scrapping with stained glass was completely out of my comfort zone. I wasn't sure where to even start. But the Guild, being the nurturing place it is, thought of that, too. Debb's March Mini-Class is all about stained glass. The information included gave me so much background on the history and styles of stained glass that the ideas just started to flow. She even gives a step by step guide for creating truly beautiful art in a stained glass style. Before I knew it, I was creating some truly COOL stuff and the stained glass techniques were completely addicting!
There are two stained glass style kits in the DSAG Shoppe this month. Lisa Dozier has created lots of soft colored glass backgrounds and beautifully jewelled elements in her Reflections Combo Pack, and Holley VanDenBerg has created a wonderful selection of brightly colored stained glass backgrounds in her Stained Glass Paper Pack. Both are Featured Products in the Guild store all month and come with Gifts with Purchase!

Hi, my name is LaDonna and I'm addicted to digi-scrapping...now with Stained Glass!

Same Time, New Station!

DIP Chat is back! Chat will still be held every other Monday nights at 9:00pm U.S. Eastern Time at our new home, the Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild. Our first "new" chat will be held on March 11 in the DSAG Chat Room. I hope to see you there!

In Like a LION!

An entire winter with only a hint of snow, and now on March 1, we get our first big snow of the year. The storm descended on Fargo last night. It was just beginning to snow when I got home from work at 5:00pm. When I got up this morning, this was the view out my back door onto our deck. 8 inches of snow fell on Fargo last night. We are expected to get up to 12 more inches by Friday morning, and possibly another 3 or 4 inches during the day on Friday.
You know, I really enjoy the snow, but at this time of year, I'm ready for spring! At least, I can live in the hope that the old saying is true and March goes out like a lamb!

A Grand New Adventure

I'm so excited, I want to scream and dance and jump up and down!! About 3 weeks ago, my dear friend Debb, whom I met through digital scrapbooking, sent me a message letting me know that she was launching a new online community for digi-scrappers. She invited me to apply for the Creative Team of this wonderful new community, so of course I had to go check it out.

The Digital Scrapbooking Artisan Guild is unlike any other digi-scrapping community I've visited before. This new Guild is all about advancement of our craft through constant learning. Opportunities to learn, grow, and be recognized for excellence are everywhere! The creativity of the design team is absolutely amazing, and the members are so supportive of one another. In just the few short weeks that I've been a part of the Guild, it's already become my online home. Dropping in at the Guild is like popping over to a friend's house for coffee.

And now, today, the most exciting part has happened - I have been accepted as a member of the Inaugural Creative Team for the DSAGuild! I'm thrilled, giddy, and scared to death all at the same time. But it really is the next logical step in the advancement of my own artistic skills. I've pushed myself to learn and improve, and now I'll have the opportunity to have an influence on the entire community. It feels so good to finally have this validation of my skills!!

Being a part of the Creative Team means that I will be hosting chats and challenges as well as creating layouts for the Guild's wonderful designers. Beginning right away, the Digital Image Pro chat that I've been hosting at DigitalScrapbookPlace will move to the Guild. I am truly grateful to DSP for being the supportive and nurturing place where I was able to learn so much about digital scrapbooking, but I really feel that I've grown to a point where I need to be able to spread my wings a bit more. The Guild is giving me the opportunity to do just that.

If you are here because you have been a part of my DIP chats, I do hope you'll come to the Guild and join us. If not, I understand, but I would encourage every one of you to at least come check out the site. I think you'll find so much opportunity for growth in your own skills. Please stop by and check us out.

I am so grateful to my wonderful friend, Debb for presenting me with this sensational opportunity! Debb, you are an angel, and whether you know it or not, you came to me at exactly the moment I needed you! Because of you, I have once again found my inspiration and I truly want to create again!

Until next time.
